The extremism threat within the UK has changed significantly in the last 18 months. The pandemic has given rise to a host of new conspiracy theories and has led to an evolution in the way existing extremists operate and spread their ideas with an increase in online activity, making it harder to identify and prevent.

Join Westminster Insight’s Tackling Extremism Digital Conference, where you will hear from central and local authorities, Prevent coordinators, police, grassroots organisations, and former extremists on how to develop and implement a proactive, whole-society approach to countering extremism.

We will explore how enhanced multiagency working can help identify those at risk of being radicalised and design appropriate interventions to combat the rise of extremism at the grass roots level.

We will explore the success of current policy, such as the ACT Early campaign, and future strategies designed to prevent the spread of propaganda online, protect targets of extremism and those at risk of being radicalised. You will hear how to raise awareness, spot and respond to signs of extremism and build community resilience.

Lord Walney, former Special Envoy for Countering Violent Extremism, will share the latest findings of his independent review on ‘progressive extremism’.
